The Broadcom Emulex LPe31002 is a dual-port 16GFC Fibre Channel host bus adapter from the Emulex Gen 6 series, designed to give servers redundant, high-bandwidth connectivity into Fibre Channel SANs. Built on the Emulex XE501 (Engine 501) I/O controller and an eight-lane PCIe 3.0 host interface, the LPe31002 delivers up to 3,200 MB/s full-duplex throughput per port and over 1.6 million IOPS per port, with both ports field-upgradeable to full 32GFC performance using Broadcom-certified optics. The dual 16GFC ports autonegotiate down to 8GFC and 4GFC for compatibility with existing SAN infrastructure. FC-NVMe support runs alongside traditional SCSI FCP, while ExpressLane traffic prioritization, T10-PI data integrity and Forward Error Correction protect and prioritize mission-critical, low-latency flash traffic. Managed through Emulex HBA Manager, the LPe31002 supports dual-fabric multipathing for high availability and is backed by an industry-leading 10-million-hour field MTBF, making it a proven choice for enterprise virtualization and database server storage connectivity.
